Join us at The Marlowes Shopping Centre on Saturday 24th October for a beginner-friendly jewellery-making workshop in support of animal charity Animal Support Angels.
Taking place from 1.30pm to 4.30pm in the Community Hub, the workshop will give older children, teenagers and adults the chance to learn new skills, get creative and make their own unique jewellery, while supporting a good cause.
Led by event organiser Kristy Smith, the session will introduce the basics of jewellery-making, including the tools and findings used to create different pieces. Participants will learn three simple techniques: using jump rings, creating loops with wire and making wrapped loops.
With tools, beads, charms and other materials provided, everyone will have the opportunity to experiment with different designs and create something of their own. The workshop will celebrate the use of made, found, upcycled and recycled materials, and participants are welcome to bring along small items they would like to transform into earrings, a necklace or a bracelet.

Whether you're trying jewellery-making for the first time or simply fancy an afternoon of creativity, you'll receive guidance throughout the session and leave with at least one finished piece, alongside a handy guide to the techniques you've learnt.
The workshop brings together two of Kristy's passions: jewellery-making and supporting animals. It's a chance to enjoy a hands-on creative activity while helping raise support for Animal Support Angels and the important work the charity does.
Kristy Smith, event organiser, said:
"Jewellery-making and looking after animals are two things I’m really passionate about, so bringing them together in one event feels very special. I’m looking forward to helping people discover how enjoyable jewellery-making can be, while supporting the important work of Animal Support Angels at the same time."
Vicki-Lea Workman, Business Manager at The Marlowes Shopping Centre, added:
"We’re really pleased to be able to support Animal Support Angels through such a fun, creative activity. The workshop gives people the chance to learn a new skill, make something unique and come together in support of a charity doing valuable work."
The workshop is subject to a minimum of three tickets being sold. If fewer than three participants have booked by the end of the day before the event, the workshop will be cancelled and tickets refunded.
Come along, get creative and make something special while supporting a great cause at The Marlowes.
