HAIR-RAISING CHARITY EVENT AT MARLOWES SHOPPING CENTRE
20 April 2011
On Saturday 30th April, local lady Carol Kitchener will be at
Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead, raising funds for The
Iain Rennie Hospice, by shaving her hair off.
Carol sadly lost her sister-in-law and close friend, Sharon
Kitchener, to cancer in February last year, following a 13 month
battle with the disease. The excellent support that Sharon received
from the Iain Rennie Hospice during her final few months has
motivated Carol into carrying out this charity fundraising event.
The hospice, based in Tring, receives less than 10% from the
government and heavily relies on the kind generosity of the local
community to help make up the shortfall. The money that Carol
raises will benefit both patients and their carers too.
Eileen Gannon, Marketing Manager at Marlowes Shopping Centre
commented: "We are proud to support Carol in carrying out the event
in aid of this local charity. We hope that shoppers will be
generous in their donations, which will all go to this worthy
cause."
Carol will be carrying out the hair-shaving event at 1pm, on the
mall within the shopping centre.
